The Quiet Engine is a private service run by one person in the United Kingdom. This page describes exactly what happens to your information, including your YouTube channel data. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The free scan

A scan reads only information that is already public on YouTube: your video titles, descriptions, view counts, and the text of public comments. No account access is requested and none is used. We store the resulting report, your channel name, and the email address you gave us so we can send you the link.

Comment text is analysed for the language your audience uses. We do not store who wrote any comment, and no report ever names a commenter.

When you become a client

If you engage us, you grant access to your channel from your own Google account. You will be shown exactly what you are granting before you grant it. We ask for two permissions:

• Manage your YouTube videos’ details — used only to change titles, descriptions and tags you have personally approved, one at a time.
• View your YouTube Analytics — read-only, used to see which videos hold attention.

What we store, and for how long

• Your access credential — encrypted at rest, readable only by the single engagement it was granted for, never displayed anywhere, and never shared with anyone.
• Channel data — titles, descriptions, view counts, retention figures and the changes we proposed and you approved. Kept for the length of the engagement.
• Your reports — kept, because they are yours.

Revoking access

You can revoke access at any moment, without telling us, at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Everything stops immediately.

Deletion at closure

When an engagement ends we revoke the credential at Google and delete it. Your channel data is deleted or handed to you, your choice. Your reports remain available to you.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts beyond a web font. The only information this site collects is what you type into the scan request form.
